P&P Power was formed by an unlikely duo. Don Plumm, the President, worked for twenty-eight years in manufacturing. During the manufacturing downturn in the mid 2000's Don was laid off due to budget constraints. He found a job as plant manager for a large hydraulic cylinder manufacturer. After a year of doing this he decided it was time to better his life. Don went back to college at the age of 52 focusing on business and manufacturing. As a Sophomore level student he was invited by a professor to take a Senior level business course. Don worked diligently on formulating what is now the business plan for P&P power. The professor of the business course praised the plan and gave Don the highest grades. He found an unlikely ally in Vice-President, Dr. Jeffrey Peterman. Jeff had worked in the agricultural and construction industries for many years. He decided to make a better life for he and his family and went to medical school. He worked construction and raised three kids while working on his medical degree. At the age of 44 he graduated from the University of Michigan School of Medicine with an MD degree. He started a modest practice focusing on bettering the lives of people in his community. He still had a strong desire to bring his ideas into creation to further help people. During a meeting Don and Jeff both shared a dream to bring a power metal cutter to market. They had both dealt with metal roofing in their lives and agreed there must be a better way. After four years of research, and hard work, the P&P Power Metal Roofing Cutter was built. This partnership shows the resolve of two men who are not going to lay down, no matter what life brings them.
